Buzz Aldrin’s Apollo 11 mission-saving felt-tip pen up for auction at Sotheby’s

The felt-tip pen used to fix a broken circuit breaker during the 1969 Apollo 11 moon landing is being auctioned in New York.

• Sotheby’s is auctioning the pen, with an estimated sale price between $800,000 and $1.2 million.
• Aldrin stated that the pen saved Neil Armstrong and himself from being unable to leave the lunar surface.
