Sir Olly Robbins has reached an out-of-court settlement with the government over his sacking as the Foreign Office's top civil servant, ending his judicial review challenge.
- Robbins received a six-figure payout from the government, the amount of which has not been made public.
- Robbins was dismissed in April by Keir Starmer after the Guardian revealed he had overturned a security-vetting recommendation to deny Mandelson clearance.
- Robbins said he was "grateful for the support and good wishes" and thanked the FDA union for its help reaching the settlement.
- FDA general secretary Dave Penman said the affair had "damaged the bond of trust between civil servants and ministers," calling Robbins's sacking an act of "scapegoating."
