Egyptian police have arrested 10 suspects after a brawl involving white weapons broke out in Beni Suef over disputes in the meat trade.

• The interior ministry said the incident stemmed from a video circulating on social media showing a brawl using white weapons in Beni Suef, following a July 8 complaint from a meat shop owner and an injured worker.
• Police arrested 10 suspects, including 6 butchers and 2 workers from the shop, and seized the white weapons, wooden sticks, and stones used in the attack.
• The suspects confessed to the brawl, with the shop workers accusing the other suspects of assaulting them with wooden sticks, while the butchers said the workers had attacked them first.
• Authorities have initiated legal proceedings and referred the case to prosecutors for investigation.
