British Columbia's Conservative Party has won a majority in the snap provincial election, ending nearly a decade of NDP government and making Lorne Doerkson premier.
- The Conservatives won 64 of 93 legislative seats, versus 27 for the NDP and two for the Greens, their first such victory since 1928.
- Outgoing Premier David Eby resigned as NDP leader and accepted full responsibility after calling the snap election two years early.
- Doerkson, who took the party's helm weeks ago, has pledged to triple natural gas production by 2035 and end emissions caps.
