US Central Command has disabled a commercial cargo ship in the Gulf of Oman that tried to circumvent the naval blockade imposed on Iran.
- CENTCOM announced its forces targeted the Panama-registered MV Ocean Mullica after its crew ignored repeated warnings to stop.
- A US fighter jet struck the ship's stern with precision munitions, disabling its propulsion system without harming the crew, CENTCOM said.
- The ship was attempting to cross territorial waters after departing an Iranian port, CENTCOM stated.
- US forces said three months of enforcement have disabled four commercial ships, redirected 135, and destroyed ten tankers linked to Iran's Revolutionary Guard.
- CENTCOM said the strike occurred on Saturday, fully disabling the vessel's propulsion without harming its crew.
