Monthly exams begin for Egypt's transfer-grade students

Egypt's first monthly exams of the 2026/2027 school year began Sunday for transfer grades from primary one through second secondary.

• The exams were held during the school day, with questions limited to curriculum portions actually taught since the new year began September 12.
• The Education Ministry instructed schools to activate electronic attendance to ensure discipline during the academic year.
• The ministry set first-semester transfer-grade exams for January 9–14, 2027 and preparatory certificate exams for January 16–21.
• Under ministry evaluation rules, the monthly exam counts for 15 of 100 points in primary grades and 15 percent of the secondary course mark.
