Winless Márquez start leaves Mexico searching for answers after four-match window

Rafael Márquez finished his first international window as Mexico head coach without a win, managing two draws and two defeats.

• Mexico drew 1-1 with Colombia and Peru, then lost 3-0 to the United States and 2-0 to Chile.
• Márquez became the first permanent Mexico manager since 1997 to fail to win any of his opening three matches.
• Márquez attributed the defeats to "terrible mistakes," saying his players "gifted those three goals" to the United States and lacked decisiveness in both areas.
• Márquez handed debuts to six players, with Raúl Jiménez, Julián Quiñones and Gilberto Mora unavailable through injury.
