Egypt's tunnel authority chief has said the hydrogen tram project's execution depends on a feasibility study being prepared with South Korea's Hyundai.
- Tarek Gawely announced during a tour of the fourth metro line workshop that the final implementation decision awaits the study's results.
- He said the study assesses construction, operation, and maintenance costs, infrastructure requirements, and ways to secure the hydrogen fuel.
- Gawely said the study explores establishing a dedicated hydrogen production plant in an industrial zone to supply the tram sustainably.
- He said they are examining investment models under which the implementing company shares project investment and handles operation and maintenance.
