Lebanese authorities are investigating hundreds of kilograms of explosives seized from a truck traveling from Bekaa toward Beirut, as Prime Minister Nawaf Salam pledged full accountability.
- Security forces seized the truck in Dahr al-Baydar carrying hundreds of kilograms of explosives, including C4 and TNT, and arrested its two drivers.
- Salam said the government will show "no tolerance and no leniency, but truth and accountability" and will firmly deal with any weapon outside state legitimacy.
- Military court commissioner Judge Claude Ghanem began investigating Monday, with the explosives placed in military police custody.
- The two arrested drivers told investigators they belong to Hezbollah and received the explosives in Baalbek for delivery in Beirut's southern suburbs, newspaper Al-Diyar reported.
- Salam said C-4 explosive has been used in past political assassinations in Lebanon and vowed to pursue all those involved and their backers.
