Egypt authorizes 42 citizens to acquire foreign nationalities while keeping Egyptian citizenship

Egypt's Interior Ministry has authorized 42 citizens to acquire foreign nationalities while retaining their Egyptian citizenship, per decisions published in the Official Gazette.

• The Interior Ministry issued decisions 1592 and 1593 of 2026, each permitting 21 citizens to naturalize with foreign nationalities while keeping Egyptian citizenship.
• Both decisions, dated 17 September 2026 and published in the Official Gazette, followed a review of Law 26 of 1975 on Egyptian nationality.
• Article 10 of Law 26 of 1975 requires Egyptians to obtain an Interior Ministry permit before acquiring a foreign nationality.
