Gang attack in Haiti leaves four Salvadoran soldiers missing

A gang assault on an armored vehicle in Croix-des-Bouquets sent four Salvadoran soldiers missing in the first major attack on Haiti's international Gang Suppression Force.

• The Salvadoran Armed Forces said the four aviation technicians fled the burning armored vehicle during Sunday's attack and remain unaccounted for.
• US Ambassador to the UN Mike Waltz told the Security Council the soldiers are believed alive and that the US will bring them home.
• Haiti's UN envoy Wien-Weibert Arthus said gang weapons are not made in Haiti and will keep entering the country.
• Gang Suppression Force special representative Jack Christofides said gangs are testing the force and have carried out reprisal killings after operations.
