Lindsey Graham’s sister inherits his Senate seat after his death

Three days after the death of Senator Lindsey Graham, his sister Darline Graham Nordone was sworn in to fill his seat at the suggestion of President Donald Trump.

• Darline Graham Nordone was sworn in as US Senator from South Carolina on Tuesday.
• Governor Henry McMaster announced her appointment on Monday, saying she would “finish his work for him now.”
• Nordone said she would work to support the president and carry forward her brother’s efforts on behalf of South Carolina.
• Nordone has never held elected office and will not inherit her brother’s committee positions or seniority.
