Uganda has reversed its decision to withdraw from the 2027 Invictus Games after King Charles's principal private secretary assured its military chief that the King supported its participation.
- Uganda has confirmed it will take part in the Invictus Games in Birmingham in 2027, reversing the withdrawal announced last week by General Muhoozi Kainerugaba.
- Kainerugaba reversed the decision after a telephone call with Sir Clive Alderton, the King's principal private secretary, who said the King had "no problem" with Uganda's participation.
- Kainerugaba had announced the withdrawal last week, saying Uganda would not participate in anything without the King's approval, following a palace letter clarifying Prince Harry and Meghan were non-working royals.
