Thirteen-year-old Chinese swimmer Yu Zidi has won her second gold at the Asian Games, setting a Games record in the women's 200m butterfly.
- Yu Zidi, 13, won the women's 200m butterfly on Sunday in an Asian Games record of 2:05.08, her first major title.
- She took a second gold in Monday's 200m individual medley, timing 2:06.10, just off Summer McIntosh's world record of 2:05.70.
- "It was only so-so," Yu said of the butterfly race; she will swim the 400m IM later this week.
- Earlier this year Yu defeated Regan Smith, the 2024 Olympic 200m butterfly silver medallist, in a meet in China.
- Yu's 200m individual medley win set a new Asian Games and Asian record, ranking second-fastest in women's 200m medley history.
