Trump renews attack on Norway over Nobel Peace Prize snub

Trump called Norway "disgusting" and said he wants no Norwegian immigrants over the Nobel committee's snub; Oslo reaffirmed the committee's independence.

• Trump said at a Michigan campaign rally on Sunday that Norway has become a "very dirty country" and that he wants no relationship with it.
• Trump said he welcomes immigrants from Denmark but not from Norway or Sweden because he was not given the Nobel Peace Prize despite "ending conflicts."
• Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide said Monday that the Nobel committee is independent and that Oslo has reminded Trump of this.
• The Nobel committee gave the 2025 prize to Venezuelan opposition figure María Corina Machado and the 2026 prize to South African jurist Navi Pillay.
