(opens the publisher’s site)The NFL has asked US Homeland Security to remove a video that used Hall of Fame safety Brian Dawkins's violent hits to promote border enforcement.
- The DHS posted the video on Sunday, featuring Dawkins's pregame walkout and on-field hits, in response to reports of a "huge migrant caravan" approaching the southern border.
- "The league has requested the DHS take down the video," NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy said Monday.
- Dawkins, who told ESPN by text he had not granted permission for the use of his image, wrote: "I have very respectfully not given permission."
- The video remained available on the social media platform as of Monday noon.
