The AFC announced its 2026 award finalists Friday, with Saudi pair Salem Al-Dawsari and Feras Al-Buraikan among three contenders for Asian Player of the Year.
- The ceremony will take place in Bangkok on 19 November, honouring winners across 19 award categories.
- Al-Dawsari and Al-Buraikan vie for the award alongside Iranian goalkeeper Alireza Beiranvand.
- The AFC said Al-Buraikan's first nomination follows his winning goal in the 2025-26 Champions League Elite final, which gave Al-Ahli a second straight title.
- The AFC noted Al-Dawsari could win a record third award after victories in 2022 and 2025.
- The AFC also named women's and other nominees, including South Korea's Lee Kang-in, who is aiming to retain the best overseas professional award.
