Giza announces five-hour closure of 26 July Axis extension for monorail works

The Giza Governorate has announced a full five-hour closure of the 26 July Axis extension road at Hyper One mall to carry out monorail construction works.

• The closure takes effect from 1 AM to 6 AM on Friday, 11 September 2026, for one day only.
• The works are part of the Wadi El Nile–6 October monorail project and include lifting the pedestrian bridge at the Hyper station.
• The Giza Traffic Administration diverted vehicles coming from Gehaina Square through a newly created median opening into the opposite carriageway and back to the axis.
• The administration coordinated with the executing company to install directional, warning, and lighting equipment around the site and deployed traffic services.
