Egyptian Industries Federation head Mohamed El-Sewedy has called at the Egypt 2026 Forum for extending small industrial zones to governorates, particularly Upper Egypt.
- El-Sewedy asked for selective industrial zones focused on labor-intensive sectors such as textiles, food production, and furniture near residential communities.
- He proposed offering industrial land in governorates for garments and agricultural production in cooperation with Mostaqbal Misr and the Agriculture Ministry.
- El-Sewedy said investment incentives restricted to seven sectors contradict the investment law and should cover cement, clothing, and food industries to deepen local manufacturing.
