NFL suspends Rams' Jackson for punch; team releases kicker Mevis

The NFL suspended Los Angeles Rams offensive lineman Alaric Jackson for two games and the team released kicker Harrison Mevis following Monday's overtime loss to the Buffalo Bills.

• The NFL handed Jackson a two-game suspension without pay for punching Bills linebacker Bradley Chubb after the Rams' 37-34 overtime defeat.
• The Rams cut Mevis and signed kicker Blake Grupe from the Jets' practice squad after Mevis missed a field goal in regulation and had another blocked in overtime.
• Coach Sean McVay said the kicking game "cost us the game" and confirmed Jackson will appeal the suspension.
