Bloomberg and Wall Street Journal investigations traced Chinese-made commercial components flowing to Iran's defense ministry and Houthi arms production.
- A container intercepted at Aden in July, bound for Houthi-held Hodeidah, held machinery and chemicals, including heat-resistant resin and fins resembling Iranian missile parts.
- Shipping records tied the shipment to 41 bills of lading from Chinese suppliers, mostly in Guangzhou, with Yemeni importer names altered in 25 cases.
- Iranian customs data analyzed by the Wall Street Journal recorded roughly 1,300 shipments of dual-use components reaching Iran's defense ministry in the first half of 2026.
- Fawaz al-Busaisi, Aden ports director, said the cargo amounted to "a complete missile structure distributed across the three containers."
