(opens the publisher’s site)Zamalek has announced the official transfer of Brazilian winger Juan Pizera to UAE club Shabab Al-Ahli Dubai, ending weeks of dispute over his departure.
- Zamalek's board, chaired by Hussein Labib, announced a final agreement on Pizera's transfer to Shabab Al-Ahli Dubai.
- The deal concluded after the club's demands from the summer transfer negotiations were met, the club said in a statement.
- Pizera apologized to the club, players, coaching staff and fans, and requested permission to leave after leading the team to the league title.
- Pizera had refused to return after skipping Zamalek's pre-season camp before coming back to Cairo and issuing the apology.
- Pizera said on Instagram after the move, "A new challenge, a new country, and new goals," marking his first comment since joining.
- Brazilian media reported the transfer fee for Pizera's move is $4 million, lower than the $5 million Zamalek had previously announced.
- Brazilian media said the fee was paid in a single installment and the deal was finalized after about three weeks of negotiations.
