Egypt works to return citizen detained after crossing into Israel

Egyptian authorities said Tuesday they are arranging the return of a citizen detained by Israeli forces after crossing the border fence from Egypt into Israel.

• Israel's military said it arrested the Egyptian civilian overnight after he crossed the border fence from Egyptian territory near the Nitzana area.
• The Israeli military said troops spotted him, stopped him, and transferred him for questioning by security forces.
• The military said it is treating the incident with high seriousness and keeping forces at a high level of defensive readiness.
