Sudden 1200mm water main break cuts supply across Cairo districts

Cairo Drinking Water Company announced a sudden rupture of a 1200mm main line in Zahraa al-Maadi that cut or weakened water supply across 13 districts.

• The company said the break struck the line feeding the Abu Oweikel booster pump in Zahraa al-Maadi.
• Affected areas include the sixth and eighth districts, al-Qatamiyya, and Manasheh Nasser, among others.
• The company said it deployed engineers, technicians, workers and equipment to complete repairs as quickly as possible.
• Free drinking water trucks will be distributed to affected areas, requestable via hotline 125 or the Cairo Water WhatsApp service.
