Israel has ordered Dutch diplomats in Ramallah to return their diplomatic documents within seven days, in response to the Netherlands' ban on imports from settlements.
- Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar said the decision responds to the Netherlands' ban on imports from settlements in the West Bank, East Jerusalem, and the Golan Heights.
- Sa'ar said the diplomats have seven days to return the documents, after which their diplomatic immunities and rights would end.
- Sa'ar said the Netherlands could continue representing its interests toward the Palestinians from Palestinian Authority territory, not from the State of Israel.
- Sa'ar said Israel last month withdrew Dutch representation from the International Support Center for Gaza in Kiryat Gat, and accused the Dutch government of hostility toward Israel.
- The Dutch foreign ministry declined to comment on the decision, as its ban on imports from Israeli settlements took effect last week.
