Anthony Barry: From Accrington Stanley to England's World Cup semi-final

England assistant Anthony Barry will join Thomas Tuchel for the World Cup semi-final against Argentina on Wednesday, continuing a remarkable coaching rise.

• Barry played for Accrington Stanley and won the Conference title to return to the Football League in 2006.
• He became Chelsea first-team coach under Frank Lampard in 2020, then retained by Tuchel, winning the Champions League that season.
• Barry has worked internationally as assistant coach for Republic of Ireland, Belgium, and Portugal before reuniting with Tuchel at Bayern Munich and England.
• Barry said he and Tuchel have "been dreaming for 18 months" since taking charge of England in January 2025.
