Qantas has grounded a Boeing 787 in Rome and cancelled a return flight after bedbugs were discovered on its Perth-to-Rome service.
- Parasitic insects were found in the front of the economy section during the Perth-to-Rome flight on 9 October.
- The airline cancelled the Rome-to-Perth service on 10 October so engineers and maintenance teams could deep-clean the aircraft.
- Qantas said affected passengers received accommodation and were rebooked on alternative flights within 48 hours.
- Qantas apologised, saying the issue was identified on a small number of economy seats.
