The Netherlands' public broadcaster NPO has announced it will not participate in the 2027 Eurovision Song Contest, citing "sensitivities" over Israel's inclusion.
- NPO media director Jurre Bosman said Israel's participation "elicits various reactions in society and causes discussion and division," prompting the decision.
- Ireland has announced it will not participate in 2027, while the Czech broadcaster withdrew earlier in October citing spending cuts.
- Bulgaria will host the 2027 contest in Burgas for the first time, following Bulgarian singer Dara's win at the 2026 edition in Vienna.
- Eurovision director Martin Green said he was "deeply sorry" about the withdrawal, adding organisers "respect the strength of feeling behind it."
