Pakistan has jailed three sisters of imprisoned former premier Imran Khan under a public order law, ahead of a nationwide protest demanding his release.
- Authorities detained Aleema Khan, Uzma Khan and Noreen Niazi in Lahore and jailed them for 30 days under the Maintenance of Public Order law, their lawyer Rana Mudassir Umar said.
- Police raided the family home and briefly held relatives, including grandchildren aged four and six, who were released hours later, PTI said.
- Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said the government would find a "permanent solution" to prevent the September 27 march from shutting down the country.
- Khan's family and PTI alleged he is held in solitary confinement, denied family visits and calls for six months, and refused treatment for an eye condition.
