Telford teenager to represent Ghana at Billie Jean King Cup

A 16-year-old from Telford will play for Ghana in the Africa III group of the international team tennis tournament in Botswana next week.

• Gwen Klu, from Hadley, will compete for the West African nation at the Billie Jean King Cup in Gaborone, Botswana, starting next week.
• Klu said Ghana gave her the first opportunity to compete internationally, so she accepted the call.
• She has trained at Ellesmere College Tennis Academy for three and a half years and regularly represents Shropshire’s county teams.
• Klu stated she hopes the tournament will attract sponsors, as her family currently funds her competition costs.
