The regulator's chair said the watchdog holds "absolute power" to force Manchester City's owners to sell if the club is found to have been run improperly.
- An independent commission found Manchester City guilty of circumventing Premier League rules through "sham" commercial deals that inflated revenues or cut costs by over £900m.
- City has lodged an appeal against the verdict, saying it contains "clear material errors, of law, principle and fact."
- David Kogan, the IFR chair, said the watchdog has "absolute power" to force Sheikh Mansour to sell if the club is run improperly.
- Kogan said action was premature while the appeal is ongoing and pledged to resign over any political interference in a possible IFR investigation.
