Reading Festival applies to extend main stage music to Thursdays

Festival Republic has applied for a licensing change to allow amplified music on the main stage on Thursdays, pending Reading Borough Council approval.

• The application would add Thursday amplified music from 17:00 BST to midnight, taking effect from 2027 if granted.
• The organisers also applied to extend the hours alcohol can be sold during the festival.
• The festival replaced its dual main stage format with the Chevron Stage in 2024.
