A gold mine collapse in Sudan's Red Sea state has killed 11 miners and injured 30, days after a West Kordofan collapse killed dozens.
- A Sudanese government source said 11 miners died and 30 were injured when five artisanal mining pits collapsed at Al-Awni, northern Red Sea state.
- A survivor told AFP the pits began collapsing Saturday, and by Sunday morning rescuers had recovered 10 bodies and 21 injured.
- The collapse follows a West Kordofan gold mine collapse last week that killed more than 82 people, according to AFP.
