Sacha Baron Cohen to star in Quentin Tarantino's West End play The Popinjay Cavalier

Quentin Tarantino's debut stage play The Popinjay Cavalier, starring Sacha Baron Cohen, will premiere at London's Phoenix Theatre on 18 March 2027.

• The production marks Tarantino's first work written for the stage, which he will also direct.
• Set in 1830s Europe, the play is billed as a "rambunctious comedy of deception and disguise inspired by the grand swashbuckling epics of stage and screen."
• Tickets go on sale Monday, starting at £25.
• Baron Cohen said he accepted the role as soon as Tarantino called him.
