A former Metropolitan Police officer who served in the same unit as Wayne Couzens and David Carrick has been found guilty of rape and other sexual offences.
- Tyrrell, 57, was convicted at Southwark Crown Court of one count of rape, three of sexual assault and one count of perverting the course of justice.
- Jurors heard he had sex with the woman after she repeatedly said no, then asked if what he had just done was rape.
- Jurors cleared him of 13 further charges, including a second count of rape.
- Prosecutor Catherine Farrelly KC said that when the woman resisted his advances "he simply chose to take what he wanted."
