(opens the publisher’s site)Egyptian club El Gouna has parted with head coach Ahmed Beebo after seven league rounds and agreed with Alaa Abdel-Aal to lead the team.
- El Gouna announced Thursday it dismissed Beebo after a 2-0 loss to Smouha left the club last with two points.
- A club source told Yalla Kora El Gouna agreed with Alaa Abdel-Aal on all details of taking over, pending minor touches before the official announcement.
- Beebo is the sixth coach to depart the Egyptian Premier League within its first seven rounds this season.
- Beebo said he decided to leave El Gouna on his own initiative and that club management wanted him to stay, contradicting the dismissal announcement.
- He cited injuries to over ten players in the first seven weeks, a red card in every match, and costly officiating errors as reasons for his departure.
