Hitler Mussolini Simeon Flores has won the mayoralty of Queropalca, a remote Andean district, in Peru's local elections.
- Flores, a 45-year-old candidate for the centre-left Ahora Nación party, took about 34% of the vote in the district of fewer than 1,000 residents.
- He finished 25 votes ahead of the runner-up from right-wing Renovación Popular Perú.
- Peru's elections office reported just over 700 people participated in the municipal vote.
- Hitler Guesclin Alba Sánchez won the Yúngar mayoralty in 2018, campaigning on the slogan "I'm the good Hitler."
- Flores won 229 votes against 204 for far-right rival Gaspar Osorio.
- Flores, a 45-year-old transport company owner, will assume office on January 1, 2027.
- His name reflects a local custom of naming children after historical figures regardless of ideology.
