Matt Fitzpatrick questions Dubai title defence over Middle East conflict

Matt Fitzpatrick has said he is not comfortable defending his DP World Tour Championship title in Dubai in November because of the Middle East conflict.

• Matt Fitzpatrick said he is not "100% comfortable" travelling to Dubai in November to defend his DP World Tour Championship title, citing the conflict between Iran, the US and Israel.
• Fitzpatrick said a hotel where he dined during his 2025 win was damaged by a missile strike earlier this year.
• Fitzpatrick accused the DP World Tour of being "very vague" over plans for the events and said, when asked whether his views would be heeded: "I don't think so."
• A DP World Tour spokesperson said the Tour is in "constant dialogue" with members but that players' individual schedule choices are theirs to decide.
