Barcelona president Joan Laporta has confirmed the club tried to sign Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martínez this summer before abandoning the pursuit.
- Laporta told Corriere della Sera that Inter CEO Giuseppe Marotta refused his request to sign Martínez over a direct phone call.
- Barcelona signed Gabriel Jesus from Arsenal on the final day of the transfer window instead.
- Laporta said Fàbregas's Como contract contains a clause allowing Barcelona to bring him back, but ruled out coaching changes under Hansi Flick.
