Space shuttle Endeavour touched down at Edwards Air Force Base on Sunday, ending a 15-day mission that delivered key upgrades to the International Space Station.
- Endeavour, piloted by commander Christopher Ferguson, landed at 1:25 p.m. after NASA canceled two landing opportunities at Kennedy Space Center due to wind, rain, and thunderstorms.
- The mission included four spacewalks to install exercise equipment, sleeping berths, and a urine recycling system designed to support a crew of six astronauts.
- Astronauts Heidemarie Stefanyshyn-Piper and Steve Bowen spent hours cleaning and lubricating the Solar Alpha Rotary Joint, which allows the station's solar panels to track the sun.
- NASA said it costs about $1.7 million to return a shuttle from California to Florida, and that Endeavour is not scheduled to fly again until May.
