Ben Romdhane says he left Al Ahly without a full chance, recounts camp near-drowning

Tunisian midfielder Mohamed Ali Ben Romdhane, now at Qatar's Al Shamal, discussed his Al Ahly departure and a near-drowning during the club's camp in Tunisia.

• Ben Romdhane said he joined Al Shamal last summer because he received no full chance at Al Ahly and wanted to play regularly.
• He said a rest-day swim with Hussein El Shahat and Karim Fouad during the Tunisia camp turned dangerous as the sea dragged them out and Yasser Ibrahim rescued all three.
• Ben Romdhane said Al Ahly's management handled his exit smoothly and wished him well.
• He said he chose Al Shamal for its rapid development and ambitions.
