Egypt's Health Ministry has closed six unlicensed addiction-treatment and mental-health centers in Fayoum for operating without official permits.
- Ministry spokesperson Hossam Abdel Ghaffar said the joint inspection campaign closed Taafi Detox, Taafi Half Way, Al-Tagheer, Al-Asdiqa, One Way, and Noor Al-Hadi Al-Hadith.
- Hisham Zaki, head of central licensing administration, said legal action was taken and inspection campaigns will continue across all governorates.
- Ahmed Al-Nahas said the centers violated Law 51 of 1981, the Mental Health Law of 2009, and environmental regulations, posing a risk to residents.
- The ministry urged citizens to verify licenses before visiting facilities and to report violations via its hotline and social media pages.
