One year after the October 10, 2025 ceasefire took effect, disarmament, reconstruction and the planned governance transition remain stalled while Israeli strikes continue.
- Israel has continued near-daily strikes since the ceasefire took effect, killing more than 1,400 Palestinians, according to Gaza's health ministry.
- US envoy Jared Kushner said implementation still requires "hard work," citing disarmament, security, restoring services and rebuilding communities.
- Hamas dissolved its governing body in July, but the US-backed committee led by Ali Shaath has not entered Gaza and disarmament has not begun.
- Benjamin Netanyahu rejected a US disarmament plan in August, insisting he would order no military withdrawal until Hamas disarms "for real."
