Exam board Pearson apologises for Sats results delay in England

Pearson has announced this year's Sats results in England will be delayed by more than a week due to technical issues.

• Pearson said the delay pushed the publication of results from Tuesday 7 July to Thursday 16 July.
• Education Secretary Bridget Phillipson said the delay was "deeply frustrating" for schools, parents and pupils.
• National Association of Head Teachers general secretary Paul Whiteman called the delay "completely unacceptable" and said "something has gone badly wrong".
• Pearson said its delivery of GCSE, A-level and other qualification results would be unaffected.
