The General Authority for Health Insurance has put forward measures to ease annual treatment card renewal for pensioners, relying on electronic data.
- Authority chairman Tamer Madkour said the proposal would allow pensioners to renew treatment cards for a full year, reducing repeated renewal procedures.
- The measures waive requirements for an insurance printout from social insurance and stamped annual subscription forms, accepting the national ID card instead.
- The authority is completing digital linkage with the National Authority for Social Insurance to draw on data recorded electronically, including health insurance deductions.
- Madkour said the steps aim to ease procedures for pensioners and older citizens and shift from paper-based transactions.
