England fan gets tattoo declaring World Cup victory before final

A fan from Wigan has had a £550 tattoo inked on his leg proclaiming England the 2026 World Cup winners.

• Sean Carrington said he decided to get the tattoo after England beat DR Congo 2-1 in the round of 32.
• The tattoo, showing the World Cup trophy and the words "England World Cup Winner 2026," was done at Holy Trinity Tattoo Studio in Standish.
• Carrington said if England loses, he will add "only joking" to the tattoo.
• Studio manager Jamie Taylor said he warned Carrington the tattoo was permanent but Carrington was adamant.
