Gold Price Drop Spurs Investor Interest in Funds

Egypt's gold fund prices have declined, prompting increased investor purchases and a record number of clients.

• Gold fund prices fell in line with the global decline in gold prices.
• The number of gold fund clients reached 306,500 across seven funds, with total assets of 9.2 billion Egyptian pounds as of June 2026.
• Mahmoud Najla, executive director of Al-Ahly for Financial Investments, said the price drop offers a buying opportunity and that demand for gold fund units is rising.
• Najla said 2026 will not yield significant gold returns and that prices may remain under pressure from US interest rate policies.
