Christopher Nolan fans travel globally to see 'The Odyssey' in IMAX 1570 format

Fans are journeying from around the world to Melbourne to watch the film in the director's preferred format, available at only 41 cinemas globally.

• When tickets for The Odyssey went on sale a year ago, Imax Melbourne sold over 17,000 tickets in under 24 hours and has since sold more than 30,000.
• Imax Melbourne is the only cinema in the southern hemisphere with a 1570 reel of the film and has the largest 1.43:1 screen in the world.
• Imax Melbourne general manager Jeremy Fee said people are traveling more than ever and building holidays around their Odyssey screening.
• Christian Wächter and Romy Demeter traveled from Germany to Melbourne to see the film twice, with Wächter saying the 1570 screen offers full peripheral vision.
