Bangladeshi police have arrested two men accused of trafficking at least 30 locals to Russia, where they were forced to fight in Ukraine.
- Police arrested Mizanur Rahman and Abu Taher over a network that recruited Bangladeshis with false promises of jobs, commander Mohammad Asaduzzaman said.
- At least 20 of the trafficked Bangladeshis were killed, 17 of them by drone attacks on their first day of deployment, police said.
- Asaduzzaman said the victims were used as "bait" to locate enemy positions before Russian forces acted.
- Victims' passports and phones were confiscated upon arrival, and they were handed to the Russian military, he said.
