Pope Leo XIV's doctors confirmed Wednesday that his lung cancer surgery removed a localized tumor and that no further therapy is required.
- Lead surgeon Stefano Margaritora and personal physician Luigi Carbone confirmed the tumor was a localized pulmonary adenocarcinoma requiring no further therapy.
- The lower lobe of the pontiff's right lung was removed on 13 October in a 90-minute operation at Rome's Gemelli Hospital.
- Leo was discharged from hospital on Saturday and returned to St Peter's Square on Wednesday for his weekly audience with pilgrims.
- Margaritora said no clinical reasons prevent the planned 6–17 November trip to Uruguay, Argentina and Peru.
